What is the occasion?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While it\u2019s<em> always <\/em>great to celebrate holidays and life&#8217;s important milestones\u2026 birthdays, babies, weddings and anniversaries &#8211;&nbsp; you don\u2019t always need a big occasion.&nbsp; Gathering people together can be special without a major reason, consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Back to School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">College Send Off<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Welcoming a new neighbor or co-worker<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Celebrating a big win<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Gathering for game night,&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mom\u2019s or Dad\u2019s night In\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ask: <em>Who<\/em> do I want to celebrate &amp; why?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>2. Who\u2019s on the Guest List?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Whether an intimate gathering at home with a few close friends, or a blowout of 100+ guests, really plan the guest list. Where will it be?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Whether at home or in a large venue, we always like to set up \u2018zones\u201d &#8211; or places that can get the party moving; consider a staffed bar and a self serve area, a different spot for desserts &#8211; at the holidays we like to set up a cookie decorating station, complemented by a Hot Cocoa \/Irish Coffee station. For larger venues try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peerspace.com\/s\/?a=party&amp;location=san-mateo--ca--united-states\">Peer Space<\/a>. &#8211; this great app helps narrow down venue search in a click &#8211; think Air BnB for Parties.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>4. What is the theme or vibe?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Hosting a low key at home: How about game night? Bring a mixologist to create cocktails with a few friends. Or one of our favorites, \u201cDIY dinner\u201d&nbsp; &#8211; each guest helps create one element of a quick and easy meal:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For example,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">one group is on spaghetti and warming up a sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">another team is assembling appetizers of veggies and dips<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">one more pair is building a delicious salad&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And a small team is handling table decor and arranging the flowers.
